This week the US Green Building Council (USGBC) issued their annual Top 10 list for states implementing Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). This is the first time Utah has made the list with 31 LEED certification projects that encompassed nearly 4.5 million square feet of real estate incorporating sustainable features using less energy, water and reducing carbon emissions.  Our own Dustin Campbell is Board Chair for USGBC's Utah Chapter and said, "Utah's new standing in the top 10 is likely indicative of the state playing a bit of "catch up" in incorporating the standard, but also reflective of a new drive to build smarter, more energy efficient buildings that help to address the area's pollution problems."  LEED certification isn't just for new buildings, many efficiencies and operational improvements can be made to existing building for LEED certification.  Dustin is currently assisting several clients with LEED Existing Building (EB) certifications for ETC Group.  We are proud to support the USGBC and provide engineering services to support energy efficiency and optimization of building systems.  http://www.deseretnews.com/article/865646197/Utah-slides-into-nations-top-10-for-green-buildings.html
